The Maven

Can life get any better than a sunny day at a tiny restaurant in an obscure  Northern Italian town? Perhaps. I could be cooking. Or browsing the local markets. Or talking history, culture and the price of tea in China with the locals.

Join me as I explore what the world has to offer where food meets culture.

Quick and easy cranberry-orange quick break

This cranberry orange quick bread is a ‘no-brainer’ for christmas gatherings at the office or in your neighborhood and makes a nice gift.

Some things I would do differently: replace half the flour with whole wheat or a whole grain white flour - hell, I’d even toss in some of my fav barley flakes ( see the post on that), then I’d cut down the butter and replace part of it with a fat replacement like the prune one from Sunsweet.

If I love people enough to bake for them, I love them enough to keep ‘em healthy.
