Asta (15)
Today, December 8, 2010 we lost our little Jack Russell Terrier. She was energy personified. A bundle of personality. Irascible. Opinionated. Quirky. Durable. Tough, Spirited. Only time could manage to take her down. -

My Kitchen Make-Over (8)
In 2007, we took the old, original 1970 kitchen and scrapped it. I wanted something contemporary, and timeless in the European sense. A great gas cooktop, and and island were deal breakers - tough since we had a u-shaped kitchen that didn't really have room for that. Room, schroom. We had to remove a horrible excuse for a pantry - where the three vintage pictures now hang, and oriented a new one facing into the kitchen. It's smaller, and holds more that you can actually see and find stuff. Design by me and Ruth Cross at Truckee Lumber. The demolition and construction by Greg Pope, also up at Lake Tahoe. -
Showshoeing at Galena (8)
It simply dumped during the night, so we just had to go out to Galena Park - White's Creek - up the Mount Rose Highway for a quick showshoe trek. It was the first time Natacha - from West Africa - had been on them. She loved it! -

Wallybirds 2009 Reunion (10)
The alumni from Western Airlines - the only way to fly - get together annually in Reno. The group is getting smaller and smaller. This year I was asked to give a presentation about how Civil Air Patrol does search and rescue. -
Day at the north shore of Lake Tahoe. (10)
